Our vision at Fit & Faithful
is to help people
grow by motivating, encouraging and equipping them in their spiritual
maturity and physical fitness.
Often people create a false divide between their spirituality and the rest of their lives. Caught up in all the demands of making a living in our fast-paced lives, we forget the value of self-care and nurturing our spirituality. Actually we dont really forget we just put self-care at the bottom of our priority list. And then we wonder why we feel so tired and empty so much of the time.
When Jesus says, in Mark 12:30, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength he is describing our essential unity. He is describing what we all experience as the unity of our emotional, spiritual, intellectual and physical selves.
What does this mean for our lives? Our essential wholeness is enhanced when we create time to 1) nurture our emotional selves by developing friendships and personal relationships, 2) communicate with God in intentional prayer, 3) listen to God speak through the Bible, and 4) exercise our bodies.
We feel better about ourselves. We have more energy. We are more productive. We are more fit. And we are more faithful.
Our dream at Fit & Faithful is to help thousands of people band together, encourage and motivate one another, to create space in their lives for God to work. To read the Bible. To pray. To enjoy fellowship. And to run, walk, bike, swim or to do whatever other physical activity will bring a sense of satisfaction, accomplishment and greater health and well-being.
